MTB Foundation inaugurates Livelihood Assets Grant Distribution Program to create Alternative Livelihood for Vulnerable Fishing Communities through Income Generating Activities (IGAs) at Patharghata, Barguna
MTB Foundation, as a part of its project titled ‘Creating Alternative Livelihood for Vulnerable Fishing Communities through Income Generating Activities (IGAs)’, recently organized a program to distribute livelihood assets grant amongst 200 Households (HHs) of the vulnerable fishing communities at Patharghata Sadar and Charduani Union, Barguna District, Barishal Division.
Under this program, MTB Foundation distributed necessary materials for duck farming, homestead gardening, pond fish farming, crab culture, dry fish processing, small businesses and community food bank. These IGAs will be driven by the female partners of the fishermen during the fishing ban period who will take the activities forward with a view to creating an income source throughout the year.
