Like in the previous years, Mutual Trust Bank Limited (MTB) celebrated the International
Women’s Day 2019 on Thursday, March 07, 2019 at the Samson H. Chowdhury Auditorium
(Level 10), MTB Tower, 111 Kazi Nazrul Islam Avenue, Dhaka 1000. Achievement of the
ambitious Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) requires transformative shifts when it
comes to advancing gender equality and empowerment of women and girls. With this year’s
campaign theme for the International Women’s Day – #BalanceforBetter, we celebrate a
future in which we expect to remove the structural barriers for all women and girls with a
view to achieving a Planet 50-50 by 2030.
At the event, MTB honoured Farah Kabir, Country Director, ActionAid Bangladesh, Rokeya
Sultana, Professor, Department of Printmaking, University of Dhaka and distinguished visual
artist Nazia Andaleeb Preema, President, Women in Leadership (WIL) & Director,
Bangladesh Brand Forum (BBF) and Hamida Akter Mily, Proprietor, Printing Point. The
event was also attended by the MTB Managing Director & CEO, Anis A. Khan. lady MTBians
of the Corporate Head Office and branches in Dhaka city and other senior officials who
commemorated the special day by cutting a cake.
